Danny Batth all smiles as Sheffield Wednesday win Steel City derby

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY have the bragging rights in the Steel City following their 1-0 victory over Sheffield United at Hillsbrough on Sunday.

Chris O’Grady headed home the only goal of the game in the 73rd minute while defender Danny Batth, on-loan from Premier League strugglers Wolves, played an assured role in the back four to give Wednesday all three points.

The win helped Wednesday move to third in the League One table and close the gap on United by two points, though the latter have two games in hand.

The Owls take on Rochdale next weekend knowing that only a win will help keep up the pressure on United and League One leaders Charlton Athletic for the automatic promotion places.
